Lake Park Dental marks World Smile Day on October 2 with its Wellness Plan, which includes cleanings, exams, and X-rays for patients without dental insurance.

World Smile Day falls on Friday, October 2, and Lake Park Dental is using the occasion to remind people on Milwaukee’s East Side that regular cleanings and exams don’t require dental insurance. The practice, on the second floor of Downer Lakeview Commons near Downer Avenue and UWM, offers a Wellness Plan that patients pay for directly, with no insurance company involved.
World Smile Day was started in 1999 by Harvey Ball, the Worcester, Massachusetts artist who drew the original yellow smiley face, and it’s held on the first Friday of October each year.
“If you don’t have dental insurance, you can still come in for cleanings and exams on a regular schedule, and you’ll know the price up front,” said Dr. Beau Schneiss, DMD, owner of Lake Park Dental and a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. “The Wellness Plan is there so cost isn’t the reason someone waits until something hurts.”
The Child Complete plan, for patients 13 and under, is $300 a year or $25 a month. Adult Complete, for patients 14 and older, is $420 a year or $35 a month. Both include two professional cleanings, two exams, routine X-rays, and one emergency exam, and the adult plan adds oral cancer screenings. The Periodontal Care plan, for patients 14 and older who need more frequent gum care, is $600 a year or $50 a month and includes four cleanings. Every plan also includes 15% off procedures done at Lake Park Dental, including fillings, cosmetic work, implants, and Invisalign.
Benefits start the day a patient joins and run for 12 months, with no deductibles, annual maximums, or waiting periods. The Wellness Plan is not insurance or a qualified plan under the Affordable Care Act, and it doesn’t cover procedures done by specialists outside the practice.
